Ingredients:
- 1 green apple
- Brown sugar
- Cinnamon
- Croissant dough roll
- Butter
- Pecans (or walnuts or hazelnuts)
- Optional: Egg for a shiny exterior
- Optional: Cardamom, Speculoos/Cookie spices
- Optional: Powdered sugar
Instructions:
- Wash the apple and slice it into not-too-thick rounds. Unroll the croissant dough roll onto a baking sheet.
- Spread a thin layer of brown sugar over the croissant dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon and optionally other spices. Finally, distribute pieces of pecans (or other nuts) over it.
- Melt some butter, dip the apple slices in it before placing them on the croissant dough. Then, roll up the croissants as you normally would. If you like, beat an egg in a bowl and brush it over the outside of the croissants.
- Now, the baking sheet can go into the oven. Follow the instructions provided with the croissant dough roll. Tip: When they’re ready, you can sprinkle some powdered sugar over them. And they’re done!
